The future, and direction, of the FIA World Rally Championship is a topic that refuses to die down, and only got more interesting earlier this week with an announcement made by one of its events.
Rally Sardinia, round six of this year’s WRC, will run to a 48-hour format in 2024 – a much shorter timeframe than most other rallies.
But more intriguingly, the event’s press release suggested that this condensed format could become the norm in the future.
